Despite of having a long-term tradition of succesful entrepeneurship, Alicante city and it\u00b4s metropolitan area, is hardly suffering the consequences of an historical and structural lack of futures and strategic vision and planning. The consequences: a high rate of unemployment and a dangerous lack of competitiveness of our SME\u00b4s firms in a challenging, changing, complex, global context.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Enric Bas, Director of FUTURLAB, was invited by Carlos Castillo, the Councilor of Economy of the Alicante City Hall, to join the Expert\u00b4s Panel on Economics and Employment of the Local Development Agency Strategic Plan of Competitivenes, together with other outstanding actors of the regional scene (business associations representatives, policy makers, analysts, etc..).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The first meeting, held at the Port Authority Headquarters, lead into an interesting and succesful brainstorming of ideas about the city futures and options. First Round of an extremely needed initiative. Next will come soon! Keep in touch!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>FUTURLAB EN EL PLAN ESTRAT\u00c9GICO PARA LA COMPETITIDAD DE LA CIUDAD DE ALICANTE. Espa\u00f1a, y concretamente el levante espa\u00f1ol, est\u00e1 siendo diezmado por la actual crisis econ\u00f3mica. A pesar de tener una larga y exitosa tradici\u00f3n emprendedora, la ciudad de Alicante y su \u00e1rea metropolitana, est\u00e1n sufriendo con dureza los envites de una carencia hist\u00f3rica y estructural de visi\u00f3n de futuro, de una falta de visi\u00f3n estrat\u00e9gica y planificadora. Las consecuencias: una tasa de desempleo extremadamente alta, y una peligrosa falta de competitividad de nuestas PYMEs en un entorno global, cambiante, complejo y lleno de retos.<\/p>\n<p>Enric Bas, Director de FUTURLAB, ha sido invitado por Carlos Castillo, Concejal de Econom\u00eda del Ayuntamiento de Alicante, a formar parte del Panel de Expertos que conforma la Mesa Sectorial sobre Econom\u00eda y Empleo del Plan Estrat\u00e9gico de Competitividad promovido por la Agencia de Desarrollo Local, junto con otros actores destacados de la escena regional (asociaciones de empresarios, decisores pol\u00edticos, analistas, etc..). La primera reuni\u00f3n, que tuvo lugar en la sede de la Autoridad Portuaria de Alicante, propici\u00f3 un interesante y exitoso debate sobre las opciones de futuro de la ciudad. Primer asalto de una iniciativa que era extremadamente necesaria. El pr\u00f3ximo tendr\u00e1 lugar pronto!
