{"id":259,"date":"2011-08-14T11:11:31","date_gmt":"2011-08-14T11:11:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/futurlab.es\/?p=259"},"modified":"2020-09-18T16:38:00","modified_gmt":"2020-09-18T16:38:00","slug":"as-for-the-future-your-task-is-not-to-foresee-but-to-enable-it-jesus-moneo-1932-2011","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/futurlab.es\/?p=259","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;AS FOR THE FUTURE, YOUR TASK IS NOT TO FORESEE BUT TO ENABLE IT&#8221; JESUS MONEO (1932-2011)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>On Wednesday, October 5, 2011 Jesus Moneo left us, a pioneer and unavoidable regarding Foresight in Spain (Chair of the former National Institute for Prospective, founder of CESEDEN, etc.) and abroad (he was advisor of various UNESCO and OECD programs, member of the European Academy of Arts and Sciences, and a prominent member of the Club of Rome, whose Spanish Chapter was President and CEO, for example).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>After four years working together, side by side, on various projects (like INNODAY or Emilio Fontela homage book) Jesus, our best defender, left us orphans. Without him, for whom things had to be worked slowly, build every day, that event or that book did not exist , and neither would exists this webpage or the unit that supports it. Because Jesus always insisted that we had to keep working on and promoting Foresight Activities without discouraging. The future is not predicted, but is built, he said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>He always encouraged us to overcome adversity, placing such a confidence in us that we are sometimes overwhelmed but just to make us feel very proud, a select few, privileged. Jesus Moneo was our most inspiring, both intellectual and professional and personal levels, moral and emotional. It was our teacher and our friend. And it will always be.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>So long, Jesus, see you at the Gij\u00f3n.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Mario and Enric<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;EL FUTURO NO SE PREDICE; SE CONSTRUYE&#8221;. JESUS MONEO (1932-2011). El pasado Mi\u00e9rcoles, 5 de Octubre de 2011 nos dejaba Jes\u00fas Moneo, pionero y referente ineludible de la Prospectiva en Espa\u00f1a (fue Presidente del Instituto Nacional de Prospectiva y fundador del CESEDEN, entre otros) y fuera de ella (fue asesor de diferentes programas en UNESCO Y OCDE, miembro de la Academia Europea de las Artes y las Ciencias, y miembro destacado del Club de Roma, de cuyo Cap\u00edtulo Espa\u00f1ol fue Presidente y Director General, por ejemplo).<\/p>\n<p>Tras cuatro a\u00f1os trabajando juntos, codo con codo, en diversos proyectos como INNODAY o el libro-homenaje a Emilio Fontela, Jes\u00fas, nuestro m\u00e1ximo valedor, nos dej\u00f3 hu\u00e9rfanos. Sin \u00e9l, para quien las cosas hab\u00eda que trabajarlas poco a poco, construirlas cada d\u00eda, no hubiera existido ese evento, ni ese libro, y tampoco existir\u00eda esta humilde p\u00e1gina ni la unidad que la sustenta. Porque Jes\u00fas siempre insist\u00eda en que ten\u00edamos que seguir trabajando y promoviendo la Prospectiva sin claudicar ni desanimarnos. El futuro no se predice, se construye; dec\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p>El siempre nos anim\u00f3 a superar las adversidades, depositando una confianza en nosotros que en ocasiones nos abrumaba pero igualmente hacia que nos sinti\u00e9ramos sumamente orgullosos; unos elegidos, unos privilegiados. Jes\u00fas Moneo fue nuestro m\u00e1ximo inspirador, tanto a nivel intelectual y profesional como a nivel personal, moral y emocional. Fue nuestro maestro y nuestro amigo.
